Now in his late 20’s Dusty moved into the Haulage industry as a driver of vans and HGV’s working for various local freight services. He was an incredible hard working man, doing his very best to provide for his family, travelling to and from the island week in week out in all weathers and driving all across the UK. Away from work Dusty loved nothing more than restoring classic motorcycles to their former glory. He was very good at turning a rusty old bike into a shiny bike that looked as good as new. He could ride motorcycles too. A winner of the 250 class of Ramsey sprint back in the 60’s and a member of the ‘Conister Motorcycles club’, enjoying regular meetings on the island and making many friends.
