Dusty was a bit of a practical joker. (Short anecdote we would love to include about dad. Maybe you could help us along with it?): During his time as a coach driver Dusty would often take his tourist passengers over the ’fairy bridge’ and would ask them to all say ‘Hello fairies’. Now we all know that if we don’t greet the fairies when crossing the bridge that bad luck could fall upon us. Dusty loved a bit of a joke so he would pretend to make the bus breakdown at the side of the road until every passenger said as loud as possible ‘Hello fairies’. On one occasion the joke backfired, when the bus failed to start again. After many attempts a replacement bus was called and Dusty didn’t play that joke again. He moved on from the coach company to drive the busses for Ballamona Hospital, a job he enjoyed very much. He was a man with a big heart who enjoyed making people smile and laugh. He was very well liked there.
